Medal of Honor: Warfighter является частью одноимённой серии игр и продолжением игры Medal of Honor, вышедшей в 2010 году и явившейся перезапуском всей серии игр. Сюжет игры, как и сюжет предыдущей игры серии, рассказывает об операциях, проводимых отрядом специального назначения Tier 1. В этой игре создатели помещают героев в события, имевшие место в реальной жизни солдат отряда Tier 1: борьба с распространением взрывчатки PETN, в игру добавлена большая эмоциональная составляющая, как, например, отношения бойцов со своими женами, детьми. Отдельной задачей для себя студия ставит сохранение в игре подлинности событий.

I used to rule the world
Chunks would load when I gave the word
Now every night I go stow away
Hide from the mobs I used to slay

They once were terrified
